Family Visit to Bekal Fort

It is quite tough for family person to do regular touring. We have to bribe something to family members. I have made a practice to take them at least one new place every month.

We have been exploring many more new places around Muniyalu. On eve of Gandhi Jayanthi, decided to take them Bekal Fort, Kerala. The distance is around 140+ KMs one side. Shared the proposal with family, they were more happy to visit new place.

Post breakfast at home, started early morning drive in my Maruti 800. It is very good companion till today, no trouble at all.

I have chosen the Padubidri - Mangaluru highway to reach fast. Journey - road went well till Mangaluru. I was never expected such busy road from Mangaluru to Bekal.

Narrow highway road is more dangerous for ride, overtaking is hell of exercise. Road condition was really worst. I am not sure for what reason this is called National Highway.

We have never experienced such bad driving in NH. Sailing through heavy traffic almost 50 kms reached Bekal Fort. I had been this place during "Beaches to Leeches" trek.

Weather was very hot, sun was harsh and itching a lot. We have paid the entrance fees and entered in the fort.

The fort was looking me a different compare to last visit in monsoon. We explored little, however the weather disappointed us.

Decided to explore more in monsoon weather and left early towards home. Same hell traffic till Mangaluru made me so tiered. We had little more time to sunset. Decided to witness the sunset at Padubidri beach.

Padubidri is one of my favorite beach due to less crowd and neat one. Not sure how long it will remain. Reached the beach ahead of sunset, relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful moments.
